The Technical Architect is accountable for the integrity of the product’s technical architecture, ensuring that it is robust, well designed, easy to maintain and in line with the overall Kewill Technical Strategy.
The Technical Architect will be the technical design authority for major projects assigned by the Development Manager and will be responsible for reviewing and approving the designs and technical choices for all projects within the German development team.
The position will require occasional travel to other Kewill offices. |
| Aufgaben / Tasks |
- Provide architectural guidance to development teams
- Participate in detailed technical design reviews
- Encourage the adoption of standard tools and techniques across the team in line with group strategy
- Perform the duties of a technical lead on major projects
- Produce detailed designs on major projects where needed
- Assist with the coding and testing of software as and where needed
- Recommend areas of technical improvement in the German products to the Development Manager
- Produce quotations when needed
- Liaise with the quality management team about quality-related topics and provide assistance when required
- Ensure that all projects are developed to a high level of quality which preserves or improves the technical integrity of the product
- Ensure that the Kewill Open Source Policy is adhered to at all times

| Voraussetzungen / Demands |
- At least 5 years software engineering
- Broad experience of modern technologies such as Java, Ruby and the related common frameworks (Rails, JBoss, Hibernate,…)
- Experience of implementing web services and/or service oriented architectures
- Experience of Agile development methodologies
- Experience of UML
- Good communications skills
- Passionate about software quality
- Willingness to travel to other German or Kewill offices (Pratteln/CH, Hamburg, Düsseldorf, Manchester/UK, Guildford/UK)
- Driver license C required
